Lightsaber Umbrella….
April 6, 2007
Gotta get ready for the rainy season? May as well pick yourself up a “Darth Vadar” edition Lightsaber Umbrella.. what will they think of next! Not that I would probably ever buy this… but still a neat concept.
“This weapon is your life– and an umbrella! Modeled with a grip based on Darth Vader’s own lightsaber, this Japanese import is an incredibly limited edition item with only a few units being imported to the United States. Don’t pass on this opportunity to get your very own “Rain Lightsaber” featuring unique line art of Darth Vader preparing for battle. This collectible piece of nylon rain gear is 40-inches across, and features an automatic telescoping action. For added protection, this umbrella features a red nylon sleeve– so it looks like a real lightsaber when you aren’t using it!”

The Personal Satellite Assistant–Jedi Remote & Astronaut Sidekick…
April 3, 2007
For years, NASA has been working on this robotic servant for years and although it is not operational yet, it should be in the near future. It has everything an astronaut could ever want while working in space: cameras, sensors, speakers and microphones. It even has a fan to push on the air so that it can move around or in the weightless environment of the Space Station, which gives it the effect of hovering.
One of its possible uses could be to identify problems and provide astronauts with verbal instructions relayed from ground controllers. Its kind of like having a cell phone that floats right next to you.
However, before it qualifies as a full on Star Wars remote that Luke used in A New Hope, it would need some sort of energy beam weapon. I don’t think this upgrade will be looked favorably upon by NASA for the Space Station…unless you could sell it as a ummm soldering tool of some kind.
