Brett Rector has released his ninth Production Diary. This diary mainly deals with the upcoming actors that are set to star in The Force Unleashed and how the process went when choosing them..

“As for Juno Eclipse, the team decided they wanted an actress with a British accent, which given Star Wars movie history was no big surprise. The next stop for Darragh and the gang was London, England. This time, however, Darragh’s team didn’t go through a talent agency, but rather casting director Kate Saxson, who was given information about Juno’s character, as well as a few pieces of concept art, prior to the trip. From there a number of candidates were selected and called in for auditions. From out of the pack, model/actress Nathalie Cox, who appeared in Kingdom of Heaven as Orlando Bloom’s wife and has recently appeared in a huge Banana Republic ad campaign, was chosen to fill the role of Juno. And so concluded an almost four-month journey to find actors for some of the major actors who you will see and hear in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.”

No More Star Wars Movies…

According to Filmwad.com there will be no more Star Wars movies, even though Lucas himself said in a recent interview that their will be two more. See this recent post.

“It’s official. There will never, ever be another official Star Wars production on the big screen. Rumors abounded at the beginning of the month that George Lucas was working on two additional Star Wars productions. Steven Sansweet, the head of “Fan Relations” (Indicating that they actually have a “Fan Relations” division. Hmmm) for LucasFilms has addressed the rumors head on. Stansweet confirmed that 2 miniseries were in the works, but that they were destined for TV only.

He went on to say that the Star Wars movie franchise has been officially put to bed. It’s high time, if you ask me. Not to take a single, tiny thread of respect or admiration away from the importance and brilliance of Star Wars, but there’s only so long that you can ride a wave. Lucas and Co. pushed it as far as it could go, and then some, but I for one will finally be able to sleep soundly at night, knowing that I have seen the last Skywalker traverse a moviescreen. Television, on the other hand, is another story…”

Meet the Stars of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed…

The Star Wars Saga will continue in 2008 with LucasArts’ biggest-ever video game event. Set during the “dark times” between Episodes III and IV, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed portrays the previously untold story of Darth Vader’s Secret Apprentice — and now you can put a face to that mysterious character as well as a major supporting character as LucasArts unveils two actors set to star in The Force Unleashed.

Nathalie Cox, Juno Eclipse
Nathalie Cox brings an intriguing mix of beauty and brains to her role as Juno Eclipse in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. The British actress started her career as a fashion model, and as demonstrated by Banana Republic’s latest billboard campaign, her modeling continues to flourish in that arena. Cox also remains dedicated to a career in acting. Her involvement in The Force Unleashed, numerous British television programs, and movies such as Kingdom of Heaven (where she played the wife of Balian, Orlando Bloom’s character) prove we’ll certainly be seeing her on screen for years to come.

Sam Witwer, Secret Apprentice
Excited to play the role of Darth Vader’s Secret Apprentice in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Chicago native Sam Witwer is best known as Lt. Crashdown in Sci-Fi’s “Battlestar Galactica”. Witwer also has impressed audiences with his portrayal of the squirrelly Neil Perry, a recurring troublemaker on Showtime’s critically acclaimed series “Dexter”. Most recently, Witwer completed shooting for his first major feature film role, Wayne Jessup in Stephen King’s The Mist. Prior television appearances include roles in “JAG”, “ER”, “Arli$$”, “Dark Angel”, “Angel”, “NCIS”, “She Spies”, “Cold Case” and more. In his spare time, Witwer writes and sings lead for his Los Angeles band, The Crashtones.
