Star Wars 3-D In 2009?…

Wouldn’t this be a dream come true? Star Wars 3-D!! I’ve seen a couple of 3-D movies before and they were pretty cool. They were just like nature documentries but was it ever wild. Star Wars in 3-D would be amazing…

Friend of TFN, Kyle P., sent us a link to FilmJerk.com where they have 3-D editions of all 6 Star Wars film slated to come out in the spring of 2009. Click here to see the post. I found it odd that all 6 movies are listed as coming out in the same spring. Wouldn’t they want to spread them out a bit to maximize their numbers?

We did a little checking with Lucasfilm and here is the repsonse that we received:

“At this time, Lucasfilm Ltd. has no definitive plans or dates for releasing the Star Wars saga in 3-D. While this is still a project that intrigues us, Lucasfilm’s focus is on the production of our animated Star Wars television series, the next Indiana Jones adventure and other entertainment projects.”

All things considered, I think we all agree that we will see Star Wars in 3-D someday, (hopefully sooner than later) but you can’t blame Lucasfilm for wanting to keep the focus and hype on their 2 television shows and Indy even if they are currently working on the 3-D editions. Only time will tell.
