Well, after a bumpy release for The Force Unleashed, it ended up selling over 1.5 million copies worldwide. Although a lot of people have had no problems with the game, a large number did, which included game glitches, freezes, problems with saving and more. Rest assured, i’m pretty sure that LucasArts is aware of these problems and I would say they are in the works of creating a patch, I would be surprised if they weren’t.
“Becomes Fastest-Selling Star Wars Game of All Time
After less than one week on store shelves worldwide, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is on track to become the best-selling Star Wars game of all time. LucasArts today announced that more than 1.5 million customers worldwide have purchased Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, making it both the fastest-selling Star Wars game and LucasArts game ever.
Released on Sept. 16 in North America, Sept. 17 in Australia and Southeast Asia, and Sept.19 in Europe, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed has demolished LucasArts sales records around the globe in record time.
Sales figures are based on the first five days of sales across all platforms worldwide.
Although LucasArts shipped more than 4.3 million units of The Force Unleashed around the world in preparation for the game’s launch, unprecedented demand has led to the manufacture and distribution of additional copies.
“The record-setting sales of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed shows the undiminished power of Star Wars and its popularity across all media types, including video games,” said Darrell Rodriguez, president of LucasArts. “We’re blown away by the response to the game.”
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is more than a video game phenomenon. The novelization of the game’s story published by Del Rey was No. 1 on the New York Times Best Sellers list the week it launched and toys and games from Hasbro, LEGO, and Wizards of the Coast based on the property are top sellers at retailers. This unprecedented promotional effort by LucasArts and Lucas Licensing also includes a full publishing program from Dark Horse, Prima Games, and Palace Press.”

The Iphone version of The Force Unleashed will be released this week, according to StarWars.com. It actually looks pretty cool, I would definitely try it out.
“Released this week for the iPhone, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed introduces the on-the-go iPhone gamer to the world of the Secret Apprentice. As the story goes, you are the Starkiller: a secret apprentice raised by Darth Vader and trained to become one of the most powerful Force-users ever.
Developed by THQ, the iPhone version of the game pushes speedy action to the sidelines and brings the over-the-top Force powers into direct control. As the game opens, players are brought in to the storyline, given orders, and set off to carry them out. During the early levels, Starkiller spends his time training, and the game begins by teaching the player how to wield the Force.

Since the iPhone has no buttons, controlling Starkiller is done entirely through a sequence of gestures. Each gesture represents a different Force power, with the more complex gestures producing more complex actions. Early on, the ever-present Force Grip is the main destructive weapon used. Lifting victims into the air then tossing them aside is as fun as it ever was, as is the ability to deflect weapons fire with Starkiller’s lightsaber.
As the levels progress, Starkiller comes face-to-face with the Jedi he has been tasked to kill. Utilizing the Force powers learned and practiced throughout the levels, players must figure out how to defeat their enemies by learning the pattern of attacks and vulnerabilities with each foe.

Those who own iPhones are in for a graphical eye candy treat. Fully rendered enemies, ships, and powers set against beautifully painted backgrounds will leave anyone in awe — and give the iPhone user yet another way to show off their device. Couple that with the amount of time you can spend playing — thanks to the massive story and endless ‘Challenge’ mode, this incarnation of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is well worth the $9.99 price tag.
