Koto Unveils Yoda vs. Palpatine…

September 5, 2007

This is one badass looking figure! I love the way they designed the emporer, he looks awesome! The Kotobukiya’s ARTFX Series I think, are the best looking of all the Star Wars figures. I guess good quality comes with a good price too though, most of the other figures range between 99$-199$.

Coming in February, Kotobukiya adds a stunning new snap-fit figure kit to their celebrated line of Star Wars sculptures: Yoda vs. Palpatine!

This gigantic ARTFX Statue measures over 15 inches long, and almost 11 inches tall (1/7th scale), with both of the figures being independent of the base, allowing you to position the characters as you like within the Senate diorama base. The Force Lightning is cast in a dynamic, translucent material, and is also removable (via optional hands) for a variety of posing options. Spectacularly detailed, from the wrinkles on the future Emperor’s face, to the texture pattern on Yoda’s robe, this piece stands as a fitting monument to two of the most powerful wielders of the Force.

Darth Vader Transformer…

August 29, 2007

Nice! is one word to put on this badboy.. I love the little blurb that Gizmodo uses to describe this piece of awesomeness! The price isn’t actually that bad either, 49.99$ (U.S) at Amazon.com.

“Every Transformer should be ashamed right now. Darth Vader has rolled onto their turf and made them all look weak in comparison. Optimus Prime certainly can’t turn himself into a man made planet, and the only thing Unicron can do is eat his way through the universe at 4 mph. We never believed the Millenium Falcon/Chewbacca Transformer could ever reign supreme. But Darth Vader, oh man. Not only does he still have his light saber, but when he transforms, he turns into the goddamn Death Star. I’d love to see Unicron’s fat ass try and eat the Death Star. Not likely.”

Very cool Star Wars R2-D2 Trashcan…

August 27, 2007

Thinkgeek.com is selling a very cool Star Wars R2-D2 Trashcan.. the only thing not so cool about this though is the price.. it sells at 149.99$.. ouch! Although if you had the extra cash, I guess the price wouldn’t be so bad.. mind you I would love to have one myself! Too bad it will only ship within the U.S… boo!

Trash is just not that cool. Not only can it be dirty and odorous but it’s simply low-tech and boring. At least that’s what we used to think… until we saw this amazing R2-D2 Trashcan and learned to love trash. This stylish trash receptacle is imported from Japan and is an incredibly detailed replica of R2-D2. Step on R2’s center “foot” and his dome swings wide to collect your expired TPS reports and leftover wookie dung. In fact here at the ThinkGeek rebel base we’ve been generating extra waste just for the pleasure of disposing it inside our favorite droid. Everything was going great until we emptied the trash and accidentally discarded some Death Star plans… then the Rebel Massassi Outpost on the fourth moon of Yavin got destroyed and things just went downhill from there.

Product Features

  • Office Sized Trash Can is A Detailed Model of R2-D2
  • Stands 24″ High
  • Step on R2’s center Foot and his Head Pops open to Accept your Trash
  • Removable Interior Can with Handle Makes Trash Removal Easy
  • Durable Vinyl Construction
  • Japan-only Fully Licensed Star Wars Collectable

Be sure to pick up yours here!

The Star Wars R2-D2 DVD Projector…

August 1, 2007

As nerdy and inane as this is… i’d probably get one! haha.. every Star Wars fan should have one of these sitting in their living room. What’s next.. a R2D2 HD Plasma… hmmm i’d buy one!

“Japanese manufacturer NIKKO Home Electronics has apparently teamed up with Lucasfilm to create a series of Star Wars related electronics including (drum roll please), the R2-D2 DVD Projector, the R2-D2 Wireless Web Camera, and the Lightsaber style Skype Phone. Yes.. You too can totally nerd out with these gadget/toys. Unfortunately, I can’t read Japanese and since the Japanese text is actually in image format, I can’t use online machine translation systems either .. but needless to say, I’ll try and convey what these products are trying to accomplish.”

“Yes it’s a replica of R2-D2 which also happens to have a projection system inside but it’s way more than that. It comes with an integrated CD/DVD player inside (slot loading too!). There’s a USB port for the iPod. There’s a media reader for displaying pictures, music, and videos and it’s capable of supporting MP3 and MP4 playback. Oh yes, R2-D2 also moves about and finally, it has a remote control in the shape of the Millennium Falcon.”

Darth Vader children’s laptop for your little Sith Lord…

July 20, 2007

This is pretty cool.. It I had kids, they would definitely have one of these badboys! Haha.. maybe something to pick up my nephew for his birthday!

“If you’re like us, you want to encourage your children to harness the power of the Dark side and use The Force for their twisted, megalomaniacal schemes, but you also want them to learn something while doing it. Luckily Oregon Scientific understands your plight, and has delivered the Darth Vader laptop to help. Of course, calling it a laptop is a little misleading — it’s more like a Speak & Spell with a glowing lightsaber stylus and accompanying sound effects, but with 50 games for training “reflexes, typing and rhythm,” at least it will keep Palpatine Jr. out of your hair.”
